Stripes & Dusters

Dress - Zara // Coat - Asos // Belt - Mulberry // Shoes - Zara // Bag - H&M

Aaaah the bank holiday, who doesn't love a 3 day weekend. It takes me back to the days of retail where the dreaded bank holiday forms would be handed out and you'd have to nominate yourself for at least 3. These days, my bank holidays are spent lounging around, online shopping and blogging, my perfect kinda day. Sitting here today typing this up in this lovely weather, it looks like our summer is pretty much over. I had planned to take some outfit pics today but i've been rained off, so this is an outfit that I wore a couple of weeks back when the weather was how it's supposed to be in August. I wore this dress on holiday without the belt, so at least i've had quite a bit of wear out of it if I can't wear it again.

The dress was a last minute Zara sale buy before my holiday for an amazing £7.99. I did what I do every year before my holiday and think i'm prepared before deciding I don't have enough clothes, cue panic buying a couple of days before. Although Zara's delivery service isn't as good as the likes of Asos, it still turned up just in time. I've styled it here with a belt but it's more of a slouchy/dropped waist kinda fit. I can't tell you how many striped tops/dresses i've bought recently, I can't seem to get enough. The trusty duster is back out, and is still my go-to coat for this weather. Even though it's raining it's not cold enough for a coat so this is the perfect choice. This coat is now just £42 in the sale if you're interested!

As I have another holiday in October (i've been veeeeery lucky this year) I still feel like I should be stocking up on more summer clothes. I'm desperately trying to avoid the sales and keep buying for next season, which i've definitely started doing. I have a feeling that from now on all my posts will feature trousers, coats and scarves! Enjoy the rest of your bank holiday!

See you in my next post.

Palm Prints

Skirt - Primark // Top - Matalan // Sliders - Zara // Bag - Whistles

So as promised, here is one of the outfits that I wore on holiday, restyled for wearing at home. I saw this skirt on Instagram a month or so ago, and couldn't track it down anywhere. After i'd been to what felt like every Primark in the world, I was visiting a friend in Southampton and popped in just to check, and there it was. Not in my size but I snatched it up straight away and took it to be taken in. I thought the palm print would be perfect for holiday, and the green and white colour looks great with a tan. On holiday, I paired it with a black bandeau top and these Zara sliders i'm also wearing here, i've definitely got my money's worth out of them this Summer. I'll be wearing this skirt with a long sleeved top and sliders and boots until the weather stops me.

As the weather gets colder by the day - how? It's still August!! i'm slightly ashamed to admit that i'm looking forward to the autumn/winter season. Summer is without a doubt my favourite time of year, but there's nothing I like more than wrapping up in lots of layers and spending a fortune on new season clothes. My wishlist is already as long as my arm! I've got one last holiday in a couple of months before I can start looking forward to the most wonderful time of the year... CHRISTMAS!

See you in my next post.

Casual Sundays

Shirt - Asos // White Top (underneath) - Topshop // Jeans - Topshop // Shoes - Matalan // Bag - New Look (similar)

Well hasn't it been a while! I got back from my holiday last week, we had such a nice time. Lots of relaxing, food and too many cocktails, and as a birthday surprise we also went swimming with dolphins which is something i've always wanted to do so that was uhhhhmazing. I got back and went to type up a post and suddenly felt like a change, so you may have noticed that i've had a whole redesign hence the lack of posts. I've still got a few finishing touches to add but didn't want to hold off posting any longer. After doing a lot of searching for something simplistic, stylish and of course easy to navigate I found Andrea from Feeric Studios. Although I installed the template myself, I emailed Andrea with a couple of questions and she got back to me very quickly and offered help should I need it. I would definitely recommend Andrea, you can find her shop here

I told you a while back that I was looking for a new camera, my iPhone has (just about) done the job so far, but I felt like it was time for an overhaul both on the page and behind the scenes. So, as my birthday came around I put in a request for a canon 600d.. and I got one!! It took a while to track down but i'm so happy with it.. now to learn how to use it using a setting other than 'automatic' haha.

So since i've been back a while now, i've decided to skip the holiday style diary (the pics were awful) and have instead styled up some of the outfits I wore a little differently so look out for those this week. This outfit is pretty casual, definitely a go-to Sunday outfit for me. I've been looking for an oversized blur shirt for a while now, and this Asos beauty is perfect. I buttoned up the top two buttons and left the rest of the shirt open so you can see the knotted top underneath. There's something about a knot that really transforms a look don't ya think. Paired with high waisted black jeans (my wardrobe staple) and these sandals that I picked up from Matalan just before holiday for EIGHT POUNDS... Yes EIGHT!. They rub a little but that's nothing that a plaster won't fix. The things we put ourselves through for fashion!! With the rucksack slung over your shoulder, this look is perfect for mooching around the shops which is exactly what I spent the day doing. Autumn is nearly upon us.. it's time to start layering up and dusting off the winter wardrobe (and of course shopping for a whole new one!!)

What do you think of my new layout? Have you started your autumn/winter shopping yet?
