Navy Days

Apologies for the ASOS heavy post today, it's safe to say my addiction is getting a little bit out of hand. I've been wearing loads of navy recently thanks to this coat from M&S. I spotted it just before Christmas, but couldn't make up my mind as it was more than I would usually spend on a coat, and a week later the coat gods heard me as it was in a 20% discount weekend event. It's safe to say I snapped it up pretty quickly. Having worked at M&S for nearly 6 years as both a Customer Assistant and a Visual Merchandiser I definitely have a soft spot for the company, so am pleased to see so many things I absolutely need whenever I go in store these days.

I don't even need to explain my ASOS obsession with you as most of my outfits feature at least one item from them. As soon as I spotted the shoes online they went straight into my basket, they make a change from the usual flat shoe dont ya think. Paired with my navy trousers and blue shirt, I think this outfit gives out the perfect smart/casual vibe.

What are your tips for smart/casual dressing?

See you in my next post.

You may notice something a bit different about my blog today.. welcome to www.lauracharlotte.co.uk. I've wanted to move away from the old .blogspot.com for a while now so with the arrival of the new year I thought it would be nice to have a bit of a change around and make my little space on the internet a bit more personal so settled on using my name. So instead of finding me at fashionfoundme.blogspot.co.uk, you can now find me here at the much shorter URL of www.lauracharlotte.co.uk. One thing I have had trouble with is moving my Bloglovin followers over to the new URL so if anyone has an ideas on how to fix this I would be eternally grateful.

I mentioned before that i'd like to blog more regularly and vary my content more this year, and I hope that you like everything that I have planned as much as I do. I feel like getting my own domain has given me a little bit of extra motivation to achieve these goals, so thank you to everyone who reads and also leaves lovely comments, I really do appreciate it.

See you in the first outfit post of www.lauracharlotte.co.uk!

Lifestyle: The Perfect Weekend

A bit of a different post today, introducing my BFF and a couple of amazing places to eat in London. I want to post more lifestyle type posts this year as I love having a nosey at these types of post myself. So.. here we go. Last weekend my BFF(FFF) came to stay. She works on cruise ships, so I hadn't seen her for the past 6 months so the second she got home we pencilled in a date for a weekend full of our fave things-food, drink & lots of fun.

Now meet Jen/Jennie/Jenbo/Maloner- we met in halls at uni (we had rooms next door to each other) and quickly became very close. We lived together throughout the 3 years and spent most of our time laughing, eating, drinking and having the best time. We graduated last year, and i've found that like most people, I only still speak regularly to a handful of all of the people I met at uni but this girl is definitely a keeper. Lovey dovey stuff over as I could go on all day, we planned this weekend around a visit to Pizza East; a restaurant that's been on my list (more of that in another post)for what seems like forever followed by some cocktails and of course, some dancing.

We started off the weekend on Friday with a trip to Nandos (our uni fave) and a catch up. On Saturday we got dressed up and headed to Shoreditch to test out Pizza East. We were running late so we sat down, ordered some prosecco and our food straight away. We ordered the garlic bread which was deeeeelicious but possibly the most garlicky thing i've ever tasted. The pizza's were also amazing, I had the salami and Jen had the mozzarella, and it was definitely worth the wait. We headed on to Hoxton 7 for some cocktails, then ended the night dancing in a bar/club around the corner.

On Sunday, we were feeling a little fragile so knew we needed some food before Jen headed back home and I managed to tick another place off of my list; The Breakfast Club. We arrived at the Battersea Rise branch about 3pm and had to queue about 10 minutes to get in. We couldn't decide what to order, but Jen eventually decided on the avocado and poached eggs on toast and I had the chorizo hash.. both of which were uhhhmazing. I had my mind set on the pancakes & berries before we arrived so I couldn't leave without tasting these too, which were also incredible. We finished up our brunch then headed to the train station, with full bellies and more great memories.

Have you ever been to Pizza East or The Breakfast Club? Have you got any foodie recommendations? Also, do you like to read these type of posts?

I had such fun snapping these pics with my best friend last weekend. I tend to look preeeeetty moody in most of the photos I take for this blog (not intentionally, promise) but when I was looking through these I was just laughing my head off in every single one.. Jennie, if you're reading this hurry up and move to London!

Oversized is pretty much my go-to at the moment with the arctic weather we've been having. Big baggy knits work perfectly with a skinny jean or trouser, i've definitely got my money's worth out of this Zara knit. Loafers may not be the best choice for the wind and rain, but I couldn't resist this pair. When I spotted them online they were in my basket and purchased before I had even finished browsing. They have a fur like feel which I much prefer to just print. I've mentioned a few times that i've been desperate for a fedora for a while now but have never managed to find one to fit my abnormally small (and round) head. Hellooo Topshop! I popped in to return THE bloggers fave striped jumper last weekend as I found it way too big, and ended up coming out with more than I had taken back, it's always the way. Finally.. the bag! This was my christmas present from my mum and dad and I haven't taken it off since I opened the box. I've been desperate for a Celine Nano forever but it's way out of my price range at the moment, then I came across this one. I have long lusted after an Aspinal bag but find them too big for every day use, but this one is the perfect size. It comfortably fits everything in and I absolutely love it.. so thanks mum (and dad) if you're reading this!

What's your go-to outfit in winter? What do you think of the oversized look?

2015 & Back to Blogging

Hello 2015! First of all I hope you all had a lovely Christmas and New Year! I've been a bit absent over the past month so I missed out on all of the happy christmas and new year stuff. I've started this year with quite a positive outlook. Last year I found myself getting worked up that things weren't going to plan and couldn't help but think that I was so behind on life since leaving uni, especially after working SO hard to get myself a first. This year i've made it my resolution to stop worrying so much about what i'm doing and where i'm at as i'm sure everything will work out okay in the end. Something else that I really want to work harder on this year is my little space on the internet. I absolutely love blogging, and i'm so glad that I started this up but I feel like I go through phases of neglecting it so this year i'm going to have a refresh, maybe a name change and really start to work hard on posting good quality and of course new content. I want to work on my photography skills and take the time to look for some new locations, and I'm going to get a notebook and try and actually plan out what i'm posting from week to week rather than just squeezing in a spare moment, and style wise i'm also going to really try just to invest in pieces that I really love, and be more brave with my outfit choices (aka stop wearing black joni jeans every.single.day.)

So with all of the chit chat out of the way it's time to talk outfits. I love the slogan on this jumper, it translates to 'Hello Beautiful.' I picked it up in Mango a while back and loved the slogan and the zip detail on the side. Sticking to my NY resolution of not wearing black jeans all my life, these tailored trousers from Asos are the perfect substitute. As they're high waisted and navy they're not too far out of my comfort zone and i'll definitely be picking them out over my joni's more often. How Stan Smith has not been featured on here sooner I do not know. Easily the most comfortable pair of shoes I own, the only problem I faced was whether to get them in green or navy!

Have you made any NY resolutions? And have you managed to stick to them so far?
